Glasgow born and educated, Sue graduated from 4 yrs studying 3-D Design and Interiors in 1981 and headed for London, pursuing a career in Interior Design with private & corporate clients in the UK, Europe and the Middle East and was awarded full membership of the Society of Chartered Designers (MCSD) only 3 years into her design career.
Based in London and later Harrogate, Sue continued in this field until 2006. In 2007, Sue returned to her Scottish roots in, settling near Perth where she is surrounded by plenty of inspiration for her paintings.
Sue is a contemporary painter working in watercolour, pastel & acrylic, both exclusively and in a mixed media style. Her passion for shape, colour, texture and light have fascinated her since early childhood and she tries to convey this in her work. Her subject matter covers landscape, seascape, forest and floral.
Sue became an Elected Exhibiting Member of the GSWA, in 2012, East Riding Artists (ERA) in 2006 and The Leeds Fine Art Club (LFAC) in 2005 and has exhibited regularly in northern England and Scotland including a month long residency at Burton Agnes Hall, East Yorkshire in 2006. Sue took part in Perth Open Studios in 2008 and 2010 and more recently has exhibited at the Meffan in Forfar and The Birnam Institute.
Her work can be seen in private collections in the UK, Spain, Portugal and Canada.
